Farveh Mostafavi, Plant Pathology Graduate Student, UC Riverside
Seminar Title: "Investigating the Genetic Basis of Constitutive and Induced Plant Defense Responses Against Root-Knot Nematodes"
Biography: Farveh Mostafavi is a PhD student in Dr. Simon Cornelis Groen's Lab in the Nematology department. Her research is focused on plant defense responses against Root-Knot Nematodes.

Itzel De Anda, Plant Pathology Graduate Student, UC Riverside
Seminar Title: "The Citrus Microbiome and the Role of Iron Competition in Phyllosphere Niche Selection"
Biography: Itzel is a fourth year graduate student in Dr. Caroline Roper's laboratory. Itzel graduated from UCR in 2020 with a BS in Microbiology. Her research focuses on implementing germ-free citrus systems and synthetic communities to better understand microbe-microbe interactions and niche selection.
