Dr. Hailing Jin from the department of Microbiology and Plant Pathology is the principal investigator for a $4M NIFA-USDA grant to study huanglongbing, also known as citrus greening disease.

Co-principal investigators from the Microbiology and Plant Pathology department include Dr. Georgios Vidalakis, along with other UCR faculty members and researchers from UC Davis, the University of Florida, and the USDA.
