She has an undergraduate and master's degree in forestry and wood technology from Khulna University, Bangladesh. She is interested in understanding how microbial composition and resilience is affected by natural stresses including fire and how this impacts ecosystem functions.

&

Esbeiry Cordova-Ortiz, Microbiology Graduate Student (PhD), UC Riverside

Seminar Title: "Post-Fire Microbial Inoculation effects on microbial community resilience and ecosystem recovery"

Biography: Esbeiry Cordova-Ortiz obtained a B.S. in Biology with a concentration in Ecology, Conservation, and Environmental Biology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She was a post-baccalaureate student at Michigan State University for two years and worked as Diversity Assistant for the Ecological Society of America before coming to UCR.
