The Department of Microbiology and Plant Pathology's weekly Plant Pathology 250 seminar series is presented this week by:

Moriaki Saito, Plant Pathology Graduate Student, UC Riverside

Seminar Title: "Subcellular behavior of Arabidopsis AGO2 protein after bacterial inoculation"

Biography: Moriaki Saito is a 4th-year graduate student in Dr. Hailing Jin's lab. His research is focused on RNA interference-mediated modulation of plant immune systems.

Huaitong Wu, Plant Pathology Graduate Student, UC Riverside

Seminar Title: "Understanding processing and function of a plant antimicrobial peptide"

Biography: Huaitong Wu went to the University of Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2015 and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Biology and Biochemistry in 2019. After graduation he went to Dr. Guol-liang Wang's lab to begin a one-year technician position working on maize. In 2020 he joined the Plant pathology program at UCR and started working in the Jin lab.
