Nancy Her, Plant Pathology Graduate Student, UC Riverside. 

Seminar Title: "Outer Membrane Vesicle Biogenesis and their Role in Plant Host Immunity"

Biography: Nancy is a fourth year PhD student in the Roper Lab researching on outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) of Xylella fastidiosa. Her focus is on the biogenesis of OMVs and its potential role in plant host immunity.

Francisco Franco Navarro, Plant Pathology Graduate Student, UC Riverside. 

Seminar Title: "Grafting of Bell Peppers to control the southern root-knot nematode damage"

Biography: Francisco obtained his BS degree in Biology from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, and his MS degree in Plant Pathology from Colegio de Posgraduados en Ciencias Agrícolas, studying topics about plant-parasitic nematodes like biology, parasitism and management. He is a PhD candidate and a member of Antoon Ploeg’s Lab (Nematology Extension and Research Lab). His research focuses on the impact and some strategies for the control of root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne) on bell pepper, mainly genetic resistance and the alternative use of new nematicides.
