The Department of Microbiology and Plant Pathology's weekly Plant Pathology 250 seminar series is presented this week by Dr. Lindsey Burbank, Research Plant Pathologist, USDA-ARS.

Seminar Title: “Function of Type II Toxin-Antitoxin systems in Xylella fastidiosa”.

Biography: Dr. Burbank is currently a Research Plant Pathologist with the USDA Agricultural Research Service at the San Joaquin Valley Agricultural Sciences Center in Parlier, CA. Her current research addresses pathogenesis and persistence of Xylella fastidiosa in grapevine, including temperature adaptation and pathogen overwintering, horizontal gene transfer, and molecular pathogen-host interactions. Dr. Burbank received her bachelors of science in Pathobiology from the University of Connecticut, and her PhD in Plant Pathology from the University of California – Riverside, before joining USDA-ARS in 2014.
